According to the statements of the leaders of the opposition parties, the reason for the organization of these gatherings is the measures of the government of Robert Fico, the effort to abolish the Office of the Special Prosecutor, as well as the amendment on the protection of whistleblowers of corruption, and the reduction of penalties for corruption.

Protests were held all over Slovakia against the draft criminal law, which also includes the abolition of the Office of the Special Prosecutor. This is one of them.
